    Influence of Physical Dimensions of Tensile Specimens on Tensile strength of Plate Butt Joints

    • Physical dimensions of tensile specimens for plate butt joints, which were specified by welding procedure qualification of GB standard, ASME norm and EN standard, were contrasted. The relationship between physical dimensions and tensile strength of the tensile specimen was researched. The results show that the tensile strength of the plate butt joint increased with the parallel length and width of the calibrated parallel side decreasing.
